Reading Knights Are Sponsored By:

Old Boys Game Announced

Its time for the Annual Reading Knights Old boys event. This is an early announcement of the event to make old boys aware of the date to get it in diaries a.s.a.p

Hopefully this will fall after exams for current players.

We will be doing a BBQ which Hazel has kindly volunteered to run.

For those who dont know, old boys game is where the old players play against the current team and then hit the union after.

Cheerleaders may be arranging some kind of "old girls" half time show.

Red bull may be sponsoring the event.

The Facebook page for the event can be found here.

Knights Sink the Destroyers

After last weeks game against BNU was cancelled due to the weather the Reading Knights took on last years national champions the Portsmouth Destroyers at Bulmershe. Last year the Destroyers comfortably beat the Knights with a hard-hitting defence and effective ground game.

This time the tables were reversed with the Knights coming out on top with the defence playing smash mouth football and the offence spreading the ball through the air. The game was closely contested with the Knights coming out 12-4 victors with the only points conceded coming from 2 safeties.

Game MVP’s:

Offence - Jon Saville (QB) and Alex Hughes (WR)

Defence - Matt McFadden (LB) and Alex Juriansz (SS)

Special Teams - Jon Saviile (P)

Stats and Match Report to follow soon.

Knights take on OBU in Play-off Place Battle

This week the Reading Knights take on the Oxford Brooke Panthers. After last weeks fantastic win over Portsmouth the Knight are right in the playoff hunt currently sat in 3rd place with a 4-2 record lying below this weeks opponents who have a record of 4-1. The winner of this game should cement the second spot in the division and reach the national playoffs with the loser probably going into the plate system. Last years game was a very close contest with Reading winning in overtime after OBU fumbled on the 1 yard line.

We need a big crowd down to support the Knights for this game so come along on Sunday 26th to Bulmershe Campus for a 1pm Kick-off.

The Facebook event can be found here.
